Old Style Railway Jiggers These vintage hand propelled jiggers were in use on the NZ Railway system for many years.  They were employed when the Paekakariki Station was built in 1910, and were used right up until the 1960's.  Track Gangers and surfacemen travelled for many miles on them and soon built up very strong arms and shoulder muscles.  The outrigger is detachable to allow for easy off-tracking. The old hand propelled jiggers were replaced with petrol powered velocipedes.
